Fluff

I like the stories this author tells. Frankly, they are fluff, but sometimes I need fluff. If you just want to relax for a few hours, this book could be a fun read for you, just remember, it is not deep.

Good clean fun

I recently listened to the audio version, and quite enjoyed it! Besides being clean, it was exciting and intriguing and I had a hard time making myself get out of the car when I arrived at work. I loved hearing a mystery/romance/adventure story where the main characters have morals and stick to them.

Royal Suspense

I love Traci Hunter Abramson's books, and this one did not disappoint. It starts out with CIA agent Janessa is assigned to go under cover for the royal family in Meridia, she meets Prince Garrett and they both fall in love. But things are not easy for the royal family, and Janessa is afraid for their safety. She and Garrett go through several trials thought the book, and it was a fun journey to go through.
Janessa is a very hard working woman. She's super intelligent, and she isn't afraid to stand up for her beliefs. I admire all of these qualities in Janessa. She made the book very interesting because of this.
Garrett is a wonderful character as well. He is loyal to the T when it comes to his family, and country. And he is just now getting the courage to stand up for his beliefs as well.
When he and Janessa meet, sparks fly. They instantly have an attraction for each other, but both are somewhat afraid to act on it because of their jobs. But soon Garrett realizes he needs Janessa in his life, and he's going to do everything he can to keep her their.
I really enjoyed this book. I love female agents! They are awesome, and it was so cool she got chosen to protect Garrett, even though he sometimes had a hard time with that because he wanted to protect her instead. I recommend this book, along with most other's of this author, she is very talented

About the Author
Born 1957 in Birmingham, British author Neil Hawkesford has always been lured by the sea.At the age of 17 he joined the Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm where he spent 3 years working as a Survival Equipment Specialist.After leaving the Navy he worked as a Parachute Technician in South Africa before returning to the UK to 'settle down'.Things didn't work out, and he returned to the sea, living on an 18ft sailboat and working as yacht delivery crew.After losing his boat Neil once again tried to live a 'normal life'.�Two failed relationships later and in the depths of depression he made a life-changing decision.He decided to build a 38ft Wharram catamaran, make her his home, and get back to the sea.It took 8 years of work, but in June 2014 'Gleda' was launched.Neil hasn't slept on land since, and now lives as a 'Sea Gypsy' with his partner Gail.'A Foolish Voyage' is his first book.�He's already working on his second.

Good read, low price. Somewhat more of the same but what is there new to be said? Well a 17' boat that's a twist.

Good book. Much of the same stuff found in other "l'm living the sailing-life and you're not"-books. in my opinion a lttle more honest than most, a little less Preachy than many and seems very sincere. Also the fellow can spin a yarn, not as good as some of the old timers but way better than most of the new gang since we have entered the E-book-self-published world of, " I went sailing so I am writing a book". Well worth the price, good information and genuine as far as I can tell. The chap also seems to realize that everyone living on land is not miserable and everyone living on a boat is not in a constant state of bliss. Good book

Great value and kept me highly interested from start to finish.

An honestly written book by an ordinary bloke, so easy to relate to and learn from. I liked the fact that the closing adventure was not excused as something outside his control. He just wasn't ready for such a trip and he, not the boat or the seas, was responsible for his surrender to the option of rescue. I have been sailing for over 40 years and found this book refreshing, amusing and thrilling.

At the zoo a boy is lifted into the sky by his balloon. "Oh, that's good. No, that's bad! "--because the balloon pops when it hits a tree deep in the jungle. "Oh, that's bad. No, that's good! "--because the wide-eyed lad falls into a river and climbs onto a hippo, who takes him to shore. Thus incidents that appear to be positive turn out to be negative (and vice-versa) as the child confronts an extremely colorful bevy of animals, including baboons who chase him up a tree, a hissing snake whom he mistakes for a vine, a kindly elephant who pulls him out of quicksand and a stork who flies him back to the zoo, into the arms of his parents. Cuyler's ( Fat Santa ) fanciful tale is energized by exclamations ("WHEEEE!"; "WHOOPS!"; "GLUG! GLUG!") that beg to be read aloud. Catrow's witty cartoons paint the jungle in a humorous light and hilariously depict the boy's alternating terror and relief. And that's good ! Ages 4-7.

PreSchool-Grade 2. A cheerful calypso beat by Chris Kubie introduces this recording of Margery Cuyler's That's Good! That's Bad (Holt, 1991). A pleasant male voice reads the story of a boy's zoo adventures slowly and clearly, as a chorus of expressive children's voices chant the refrain, "That's good" or "That's bad." Having children interact with the reader on the tape is excellent, emphasizing the participatory nature of the tale. Children reading along in the book will have no trouble following the story and will enjoy the lively pictures by David Catrow. One side of the cassette includes page turn signals (the sound of a turning page). This is a very nice resource for learning centers and beginning readers. It might even encourage young writers to try their hand at this type of story.

a nice variation on a Chinese classic tale

A variation on a story, "An Old Man Lost His Horse" in Huainai zi, a 2nd century Chinese Daoist classic, which is known by every Chinese children and has become a frequently used idiom. The story calls our attention to the relative nature of truth. It would be nice if this author had noted the source of her intellectual inspiration.

The Chinese original goes:
Once upon a time, an old man live near the Great Wall/or on the border lost his horse to the barbarian tribal people. His neighbors came to comfort him. He responded, ��who know it won��t be a lucky thing?�� After a few month, his horse came back with a herd of horse from the barbarian tribe. His neighbors came to congratulate him. He pondered, ��who knows if it foretell misfortune?�� His son loved to ride these horses and one day fall and broke his leg. People came to comfort the man who said, ��Who knows if it is a lucky thing?�� Then the barbarians attacked. Able bodied men all went to fight and most died. His son was not drafted and was able to be alive.

..with fangs....yikes!

Oh how I love this book! Open it up and right away the illustrations capture your curiousity, they make this book what it is...........fun! Children will laugh, hisssss and growl right along with the story as the little boy lifts off high in the air dangling from a big red balloon. His adventures with the zoo animals are exciting and somewhat suspenseful as he meets face to face with a long, slithering snake (with fangs..oh my!). This is great storytelling for groups of children who will eventually recite the main dialogue "that's good. No, that's bad" before you can even get the words out. After reading it add some dramatic play by acting out the zoo animals and then get to the art supplies and draw your own adventure! Have fun!

Very imaginative

I have this book with a tape. I got the set from the children's scholastic magazine. I don't know if my kids would have enjoyed this book as much with out the tape. The tape has great background sounds. The Illustrations are very well done. And The idea of something seeming like it would be good, but then turning out bad and The other way around is very easy to understand in this book. A young boy gets lost from his parents and ends up in and out of danger until he makes his way back to his mom and dad. I would recommend this book for 4 to 6 year olds. The book does show the boy being chased by some angry scarry animals, I know this would be too scarry for my sensitive 2 1/2 year old, but my daughter loved this book when she was around 4 years old.
